Burns Backdoors a Straight

Level 27 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante

The action folded around to Kahle Burns in the small blind, who limped in. Romain Morvan checked his option in the big blind to see a flop of 277, where both checked.

The 6 on the turn saw Burns fire out 340,000 and Morvan called to see the 5 hit the river. Burns reached for chips and then bet 855,000. Morvan quickly called.

Burns then revealed he backdoored a straight with 98, and Morvan threw his A6 into the muck.

Burns Continues to Climb

Level 27 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante

Kahle Burns raised to 325,000 in the hijack with KJ and Chad Awerbuch defended his big blind with 109.

Awerbuch check-called a 150,000 bet from Burns on the J9A flop and then both players checked on the 3 turn.

The Q completed the board and Awerbuch checked a final time. Burns thought a bit before deciding to check back and turned over his pair of jacks to earn himself the pot.

Paawan Bansal: AK

Luo was flipping for his tournament life and his fours remained in the lead on the 3103 flop. An 8 on the turn left Luo one card from a double-up, and he locked it up on the Q river as he improved to a flush.

Morvan Bluffs Bansal Out

Level 26 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Paawan Bansal opened to 250,000 from under the gun with J10 and found one caller in Romain Morvan in the big blind holding A8.

Morvan check-called a 240,000 bet from Bansal on the AK7 flop and then both players checked after the 9 turn brought four clubs on board.

Morvan fired 925,000 into the middle after the Q filled the river — sending Bansal into the tank with his rivered Broadway.

Bansal re-checked his hole cards several times before eventually landing on a fold and Morvan dragged the pot after successfully turning his pair into a bluff.

Burns Drills the River and Clears Ten Million

Level 26 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Kahle Burns made it 250,000 to go with K10 from the hijack and Paawan Bansal called on the button with 99. Chad Awerbuch also called from the big blind with A2.

The flop came Q3A and all three knuckled the table to see the 3 appear on the turn. Awerbuch led out for 325,000 and Burns called with his gutshot. Bansal folded his nines.

A J on the river saw Awerbuch bet again, this time for 650,000, leaving himself 2,000,000 behind.

"How much are you playing at the moment?" asked Burns. Upon getting the answer, Burns announced that he was all in, putting Awerbuch in a gruesome spot with his pair. Eventually, Awerbuch did fold, and Burns' stack grew to eight figures!

Steven Zhou opened to 240,000 on the button with 109 and was three-bet to 875,000 by Kahle Burns in the small blind holding K2.

Just behind him, Romain Morvan made it 1,600,000 to go from the big blind with AQ, which got a quick fold from Zhou, but a five-bet of 2,300,000 from Burns after weighing his options.

Morvan didn't take long to lay his hand down and Burns took down the pot without showing.

Level 26 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Louis Luo
Louis Luo

Louis Luo made it 350,000 from the button with 77 and Kahle Burns looked down at 1010 from the big blind.

"Do you know how much you have?" asked Burns. Luo shook his head. "You have no idea what you started the hand with?" Burns added. Eventually, Burns called.

The flop came KQ3 and both checked to the 9 turn, where again it went check-check.

A 10 on the river gave Burns top set and he fired out 120,000. Luo then reached for chips and put in a quick raise to 450,000 as a total bluff. Burns, with his set, had some words for Luo.

"Do you have pocket jacks, my friend?" asked Burns. Eventually, Burns called and took down the pot as Luo flipped over his bluff.
